Are any of the Performance Center revolvers moonclip-ready, or do you have to request it from their shop?

IIRC, the 625s are but I'm not sure about the 627s or 686s.

what?
guns chambered in the following calibers shoot moon clips.  45 ACP, 40SW 10mm.

if the cartridge is rimless like the above it will come ready for moon clips.  if the cartridge has a rim it can't use a moon clip.

A rimmed cartridge needs a machined cylinder to properly use moon clips.  From what I understand, stock 627s (if there's a such thing) aren't machined to accept moon clips, but I think the Performance Center ones are.  Just seeing if anyone has one from the S&W shop.

well,  i don't know everything but... what i can tell you is:
the 625 is a 45acp and is machined for moon clips.
the 627 is a .45 long colt and if it's machined to accept .45acp moon clips it will have the wrong "gap" for the .45 long colt round as the make up length of the .45acp and moon clip is thicker than the .45 long colt.  so you get one of the other but can't have both.

Take some time and check out TK Custom. They are a great source for info on moon clips and on modifying handguns for use with moonclips.
