I just installed the polymer AEK trigger and RAM in my full size M&P 9, this was my first time installing a trigger on any gun besides G19, and that's a lot easier. The apex feels way better, but my question is how do you test function at the range? Everything seems to be working properly. Should I start out firing 1 round at a time and slowly add more rounds? Or just load it up?
***this kit feels 100% better than the stock trigger, is it worth the extra $ for the Dcaek kit? How much better will it make the trigger? |
| It's hard to mess up. The ram and sear spring are the trickiest parts. In my non-expert opinion As long as the gun resets with an audible click and dry fires ok, it should be all good. If you're worried. Load one test, load one test , load 2, load two, and if all is good after, go to town. |

Only thing that has me worried was the end of Apex install video when the guy was adjusting a part (can't remember name of part) If you have an Apex sear, or a factory one with a Burwell job, then the trigger bar loop may need adjustment when used in conjunction with the Apex trigger. |
I just did the Polymer Forward Set Sear and Trigger Kit, which effectively would be the same thing as you adding the Duty Carry Action Enhancement Kit to your AEK Trigger. I used the 5 lb. trigger spring and though I haven't been to the range yet, I can tell by the feel of the trigger when dry firing, that a much lighter trigger pull is going to make a huge difference in accuracy and handling. |
