Which models (9 or 40) had a 4" barrel, alloy frame, and were DAO?

So far it seems the 4003 and some versions of the 5903 fit my requirements?

I am interested in DAO so it remains similar to my revolvers to fire and I need it to be under 38 ounces with an empty mag. That seems to limit me to the alloy versions.

EDIT: Oops it seems the 4043 is DAO not the 4003. See I need help.

I thought all 3rd gens were steel.  But I really don't know a lot about them.  I just think they're cool.  Maybe someday.....  I would actually love a 39 too.  I'm really turning into a Smith fanboi....

The DAO version of the 9mm 4" 59xx series would be the 5943. However, there weren't many of them made. The all-steel, DAO 5946 is much easier to find.

There are a DAO 4043 Police trade in guns on the market as is a version of the 3913 in DAO the 3953.

Here is a link where it describes the numbering system S&W used on their semi auto pistols.
