I am a long time Glock owner and carry G19 as my primary carry.  Also have G20 and G21.   Have spent past few weeks firing many small revolvers, semi autos looking for a smaller backup to my Glock.   Ruger LCP too muck kick, not accurate, too small to grip and very long bothersome trigger pull.  LC9 much the same but better grip.  LCR and LCX too long trigger pull, lots of kick.  Tried other makes, but only one that worked for me...the Smith and Wesson Shield was GREAT !   Very accurate, less kick than my glock (Which has very little kick), excellent grip, just perfect for me.  I feel like I'm cheating on my Glock but I'll have a long talk with it and I'm sure it will accept it's new buddy.   Great job S and W !!

Congrats!  I've had mine for about a month and like it more and more each time I shoot.  Probably have about 500 rounds through it and it's been 100% so far.

Thanks.   My local range has a great renal program.  You can rent as many handguns during a session for 17 bucks and it really paid of being able to try so many of them.  If you ccw, what holster do you use?

I completely agree, except mine was a G26. I LOVED my G26 and carried it for years, but it was a chunky little beast. I had trouble concealing it under just a t-shirt during the summer.

Although I didn't shoot a lot of other guns (only other gun was an XDs in .45), I handled a lot of other guns. LC9 felt good, but I already have an LCP and am not crazy about the trigger.

The Shield is amazing. Its trite and cliched, but I've said it before and will say it again, the Shield is the single stack 9mm Glock should have made. If they had, I'd still be a big Glock fan. I still like my Glocks (current decision is between an old 1st Gen G17 or a new 3rd Gen G19 for a duty gun to replace my issued Gen4 G22), but for concealed carry, the Shield wins every time. My only complaint is that the butt is just a touch too long. However, if it was, mag capacity would only be 6 rds and I wouldn't have bought it. It is amazing that they managed to get a 7 rd mag into the gun as short as it is.
