Who here has opened up the sear spring and plunger hole in their older sear housing block? I received an older SHB with the smaller hole in a horse trade and I thought this would be a good project to undertake. I don't want to pay a shop $25 to do this plus shipping to and from.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Midway had brand new sear housing blocks for $24 if you mess yours up.

So. . . . . there is no way I can open it up. That SHB is tough stuff.

Broke down and bought a new one from SSS with a couple of other little parts to help offset shipping.

Apex did my early production 40c for me, but I think they aren't offering the service anymore.  My 9FS must have been on the tail end of small diameter bore production, so I simply swapped the block out with a replacement I found on the EE.

I have had Apex do mine in the past. Now I just have new SBH's in the parts box.

Back when Apex was doing it, how much did they charge?

$20 or $25 IIRC.
