Hello folks, I come seeking advice.  So last spring I purchased an M&P9c in hopes that it would become my every day carry weapon.  It did.  The pistol is accurate and reliable as all hell, plus it's the right size and the ergos are brilliant.  So my question for you is more about modification/optimization.  I live in Michigan and my house is only about 30 minutes from ATEI.  Doug has installed an RMR on my Glock 17 and I love his work.  What I'd like to know, is who here has had slide serrations and/or grip stippling done to their M&P or Glock (ATEI, L&M, Salient...) and whether or not these improvements are worth the high cost.  I'm talking specifically about top serrations and a not-so-aggressive grip texture since this piece spends its days IWB.  I love the idea of single-handed manipulation but I'm wondering just how grippy top slide serrations are (I can rack my pistol off my jeans with skateboard tape).  So to somewhat narrow it down, is it worth $460 to have top slide serrations and a nice stippling job, or should I stick to skateboard tape, buy a soldering iron, and spend the remaining $400+ on ammo?

Check out the stippled rubber grip tape by Talon Grips.  So far I'm impressed with the set I put on my shield.  Much grippier than the stock plastic in the hand, but doesn't hang up or chew up clothing.

In my opinion it isn't worth the $400+

Seems to be the consensus so far.    And I do really want to try out those Talon grips now.

Your rear sights should allow for one handed slide manipulation provided they have a ledge style design.

I would spend the extra cash on ammunition.
