Have the new M&P 9 Pro Series fixed the problem with their accuracy.  Thinking about picking one up for idpa.

I just picked up a 9mm 5" Pro manufactured on 4/10/13 and the thing is a tack driver off of a rest (take me out of the equation) My only complaint is the trigger. APEX will soon have my money.

That's good to hear. My 2008 vintage Pro prints like a shotgun at 50 yards.

Wish Bar-Sto would get it together and get those barrels to Apex. I've waited this long, what a couple more months.

Was there something they changed between the early models and the ones out now?

The biggest is the barrel twist rate. A secondary issue was that the older barrels unlocked way too quickly.

I'm having simular issues.  I did an in depth accuracy test last night with three different guns.  My glock 17, a Taurus 24/7, and my M&P pro 9.  The M&P was the least accurate by far!  I bought it in Feb 2011 and I always thought the accuracy problems were me.  I compete in steel/uspsa informally and just could not figure out why some of the long shots missed so badly!  After last night I know something was up.  Both the glock and taurus shot 1 1/2" at 40 feet and the M&P shot 4"  All with the same 115gr lead ball ammo.  Tried lots of different shape and weight of bullet too and the M&P just continues to disapoint!
I can't find much info about this and also I can't find much info on a good replacement barrel for it.  I love the gun itself.  I have about a 2 1/2 lb trigger and it points so well.
Any links as I have scrolled through the 8 pages on this forum section.  Anyone had a bad barrel and found a "real" fix.  I don't want to send the gun to S&W as I'm afraid they will undo all the trigger work I have done and I don't want to change it all back to stock [even if I could].  Will the new barrels fix this?
After spending almost $700 for this gun I am royally pissed that the barrels are crap!
