Recently my M&P has had trouble feeding, it gets stuck about halfway through the cycle. It did not do it when i used remington UMC but when i switched to federal from walmart it started....could this have anything to do with it? It has been at least twice in each magazine

I had an issue similar to that, the gun was new, the extractor spring was super stiff, could barely flex the extractor with my finger. The extractor was holding up the next round from going into the chamber. Had about 8 of those malfunctions in the first 200 rounds. After about 200 more the spring loosened up and the gun has been 100% since.

Some Federal rims are thicker than other brands. I know because sometimes they do not fit into my shell plate.

I woould suggest you put some oil into the area where the extractor pivots and work the extractor a few time. it will work itself out after a few rounds.

I need to measure my .460 Rowland rims.  That looks very similar to some of the failures I was having.  (I have not had this issue with any 45 ACP loads)
