| Anyone messed with one I have a buddy that's got arthritis in his hands and has trouble pushing the release to open the cylinder I'm wondering if the spring could be lightened or will it cause a problem with the cylinder opening when it's fired. |

I'm thinking that wouldn't be a good idea. I have a 442 and while I like S&W snubbie's, I have always preferred the cylinder release on Ruger revolvers. Has your friend handled an LCR? The push-button release on my SP101 doesn't have nearly the spring pressure as the sliding release on my 442.
Doesn't the sharp recoil of a snub give your friend a lot of discomfort due to his arthritis? |

those won't fit a J frame without work on the stud on the back of the release. I've modded one for mine, really need to finish it. The best ones I've used were the old Ed Brown versions. The California Comp Works look just like the EB version.
You have to file the stud for length and depth. It's not hard though. Brad Quoted:
