Good friend just grabbed an M&P9c after I told him how much I liked mine. Got it used off of the S&W boards. The slide lock/release doesn't move as much as mine does, and it is nearly impossible (as in, neither of us have done it) to release the slide using the standard release. We both have to use the slingshot method on the slide itself.
Any advice? As a side note, he grabbed this for CCW after his Sig P250 gave him issues out of the box. I told him my M&P was reliable. |

It's a slide stop. Slingshot method is preferred. |

Mine was like that out of the box. Had to mash down with both thumbs to get it to release and it had a burr where it would catch. I took a diamond file to the inside edge of the notch on the slide. Couple of strokes to smooth it out and it now works great. Go slow, check function often, and don't change the angle on that notch.
I know, sling shot and all that. I just like to have the option of using either method to drop the slide. |
