I carry a m&p 9c as my EDC. I might be replacing it with a full size soon, but I digress. I have very big hands even for a 6' 4" guy, and I have the largest backstrap on the gun. When I am shooting the gun I find that my finger is riding so high on the trigger the trigger safety mechanism isn't being activated. This causes the trigger to stop traveling rearward but under the force of the pull my finger slides lower on the trigger until the catch clears and then it results in a jerk to the rear.
I want to get the apex trigger that resembles a glock trigger (glocks don't give me the same problem) but it says it's recommended for competition use only. link I have a thumb safety on my m&p 9c, so should I be ok? Or, can you suggest something I haven't thought of? My funds are limited right now because I am saving to buy an LMT mk18 upper once my tax stamp comes back (almost 6 months pending), but I could probably swing either an apex trigger or upgrade to a new fullsize. |

I just ordered the DCAEK kit and RAM, I asked about the trigger, the new polymer/plastic trigger will be out shortly, a month or two.
The APEX guy I was on the phone with said unless I really needed/wanted the trigger RIGHT NOW, that I would be very happy with the wait. I took his advice and will be waiting. He did not know the price point of the new trigger. |
