| So I picked up a 9mm shield. Came with 2 extra mags for $375. That 4 mags total. What do you think? Shot it and the paint came out of the front sight and left rear sight. I replaced the front dot with a white wax pen filled up the recesses. Will the standard front M&P night sight fit in the dove tails? I removed the right white dot and now have a similar setup like my fs and compact with 10-8 rears. |
| It is my understanding that the front sights are no problem as long as they are .230 high. The problem with using M&P rear sights is they are normally too wide. They will protrude beyond the dovetail on both sides of the slide. I just ordered an Ameriglo I-Dot Pro front sight for mine. It has a tritium vial in the front sight surrounded by an orange ring. In about 2 weeks they are supposed to have rear sights available with a single tritium dot on them. Hope this helps. |
| Thanks for the heads up! I replaced the front sight with one I pulled off my FS when I originally replaced it with a tritium one. Same size as stated. Although the right ledge on the sight has a "S" on it compared to the Shield's. Will wait for Ameri-glow to come out with a green outline, or go with factory tritium front. |
