I just bought a M&P9 a few days ago. It's a full size model and I put 125 rounds down the pipe yesterday. I realized that the trigger is not all that it could be. So I was on APEX website and see that they offer a Forward Set Sear and Trigger kit. This seems like it has almost everything I need to make this gun shoot awesome. I also saw that it states that you need the larger 1/8" sear spring and plunger set up for it to work. My question is, how do I tell if I have the larger Sear spring and plunger? Also do I need to order anything else to make this even better? Thanks in advance guys!

How old is your gun?  If you bought it new, there will be a date on the fired cartridge from the factory telling how old it is.  If it is this year, it has the bigger spring and plunger.  Another way of telling is if disassemble the sear housing block.  You just have to take out the top (short) pin to find out.  Just be careful and hold onto that sear, because that spring is small and it has the potential to go flying!

You will be happy with the APEX stuff. I put a DAECK and a RAM in mine and couldn't be happier.

Looks like it was test fired on 8-22-11. So I should be good with the forward set sear and trigger kit right? Would I need anything else to round out the whole thing (RAM, Failure Resistant Extractor)?

The FSS trigger and sear is a great trigger, but don't install one until you have either made sure your M&P has the sear housing block with the larger spring and plunger first.  If it doesn't, order a new style block from Midway USA or Speed Shooters Specialties (call them to see if in stock).

I went through this when I installed a FSS trigger and sear in my M&P 40L.  Apex's instructions say they "strongly recommend" using the larger sear spring and plunger.  It should say "the larger sear spring and plunger is mandatory".

I installed the FSS with the smaller spring and quickly began experiencing a dead trigger conveniently during a USPSA match.  Called Apex and got to talk to Randy Lee, the head guy at Apex.  He explained I was experiencing sear flutter and said the smaller sear spring was most likely causing it.  Said the smaller spring doesn't place enough upward pressure on the bottom of the sear.  He recommended either sending the sear block to him to have it drilled out for the larger spring and plunger or to buy a new sear housing block with the larger spring.  I went with the latter and got a new sear black from Midway after about a one week backorder.  Popped in the new block with the Apex FSS sear and Apex large sear spring.  Gun has now run north of 2K rounds without a dead trigger.  Goes bang every time.

Bottom line, don't waste the time installing the FSS kit until you've got that larger sear spring in the gun.

You have the larger spring and plunger in your gun, you are good to go.  Don't worry about the extractor, the factory one is more the enough for thousands and thousands of rounds.
