My new M&P 9 has an odd reset. It has a bump or catch in it before it clicks to reset.  I put a hundred rounds through it's still not better.  Is this a problem others have?  It's kind of annoying. I think it has reset, pull the trigger rearward and nothing....I'm sure there is a fix for this?  Other than that, I love the way it shoots.

That is normal for M&Ps.  Buy the Apex RAM and this should cure what ails you:

The factory reset on a M&P sucks.

The cure for this is the Apex RAM. It will give it a firm, audible reset similar to that of a Glock.

You could be a sheep and buy the RAM. Or you could simply get a couple of needle nose pliers and bend your trigger bar a tiny bit. How are there still M&P owners that don't know about this?

I don't want to bend my trigger bar when an $18 product fixes this with no tweaking.

I have a similer problem , I have the M&P julie golob edition . There is no trigger reset at all i can pull the trigger all the way back , let it out slightly and feel where its suppose to be but when i pull it back again from that point it wont fire . I have about 1000 rds threw it . I am new to pistol shooting so i had my buddy try it and he confirms it .

Yes, adding parts to the gun is a much better answer then slightly tweaking something. lol..

Buy a new gun, add a new part to make it work right.  I should have researched things more. I shot one at the range and don't remember the odd reset.  I will check out the RAM. I guess it will be easy to find directions on how to install it.

Yes it is than possibly breaking or damaging the trigger bar.

I guess if you can't manage to bend a small piece of metal without breaking it then you should be using upgrade parts.

For those who have added this part, how easy or difficult is it? I'm by no means a gunsmith.  I know there are several places I can send it to have trigger work done, but I like the pull other than the reset.

Send it to Doug at ATEi. He does the Magpul guys' guns if that means anything to you.

I have trigger work by both Apex and ATEi; they're both better than stock but the ATEi trigger is just a bit better.

If you were in MI I'd let you try both

Anyone know if bending a part on these guns will void warrantees?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think S&W gives the thumbs up with Apex parts, but gives the thumbs down to alterations... such as stippling.

I don't know. But the tweak in the trigger bar is so slight that it would go unnoticed.

Truth? How's this for truth, A burwell trigger with a tweaked trigger bar is as good or better than an Apex trigger. I'm just trying to keep the stream of info going man. If I hadn't heard about the burwell job when I bought my M&P I too might have wasted over $100 replacing stock parts with modified stock parts.

No...no it's not funny. It is GD bullshit in a tech forum and completely uncalled for. One can make a point without being an ass although you would never know that if you frequent GD mostly.

Would you mind explaining exactly what this mod is?  I'd give it a whirl, but it would be good if you exactly describe what whirl I'd be taking, or at least, reference a site that tells how to do it.
