Quick question.
Are the controls the same on the 84/85FS as the 92/M9?
Anyone experience with the smaller Cats?

The 84 FS has the safety mounted on the frame.

92FS has a slide mounted safety.

So the 92 safety pivots forward and up to disengage and the 84f the safety goes almost straight down to disengage. 84f also has this kind of half cock feature that is supposed to make the first shot trigger pull more similar to single action, rather than the long fist pull. It goes to half cock when the hammer is back and you engage the safety. I have both but they are both from the early 90s, though I don't think they have changed much. The mag release button and slide lock controls are similar. recoils has different characteristics as the barrrel on the 84 doesn't have the same lockup system, shorter sharper recoil IMO. Since mine are older they both have the same 2 dot sight setup. My 84 used to be shot quite a bit, reliable and fun to shoot.

Also not really "controls" but my 84 has a mag safety that my 92s don't.

Thanks for the info guys!

I have found some used 84BB 80% and the 84F 90% for 280$ and 325$.

My kid sister is coming back from her tour in Iraq in Sep and I though I would try and get her a compact but close copy of her issue M9.
