I've read good reviews online but does anyone on this board have any opinions on the 33 round beretta M9 mags? Or even the normal capacity ones?

I really don't care about the magazines they make for OTHER guns. Just the ones regarding the M9 series

Thanks

Pro-mag brand mags are normally barely adequate. While they might be ok for range use, *I* would NEVER use one for CCW work.

I'm not sure why you'd want a 33rd mag, but Beretta does make & sell a factory OEM 20rd mag. I use them in IPSC from time to time.

Not for CCW(not old enough) mainly for range use, maybe for 3 gun competition shooting, haven't decided if I'm going to use a beretta for that or not.

Why a 33 round mag? I think the better question is why not?

I've read reviews on promags for other guns that say their crap, but the reviews I read for the 33 round beretta mag say they're decent mags.

Lots of reasons for "why not?", IMO. Too long of a mag WILL hang up on something when you least it need it to in a match. A 33rd mag is gonna have a loooooooooong assed spring. I wonder about those last 4-5rds feeding reliably as the spring tension lessons.

I also find it hard to believe that a company can screw the pooch on every other mag but yet miraculously are able to make a 33rd mag that works. Doesn't make sense, IMO.

But hey, it's your $$$$$.

A buddy and I shared my CX4 (using 92FS mags) at a match, and he ended up with the Pro mag. I had some other brand.

He had a stoppage that took some time to clear, and ended up transitioning to the spare beretta 15 round mag.

When we took it apart, the spring had collapsed itself into a crazy knot:

Now, any of the 33 rounders I have seem to be somewhat so-so in terms of reliabilty. They're great until they're bumped. The spring will then give somewhat, and the rounds inside will get all cockneyed.
