I have a PX4 Storm. Love the gun, but the damn slide safety drives me nuts. I am to the point where I am considering going with glock, despite the jacked up grip angle.
Please don't tell me I should be glad to have a safety. I know what I am doing. My question is, has anyone handled/shot one of the safteyless px4 "C"s? How is the trigger? trigger reset? I am down to between the px4c, HK P30L, or a G34. Don't know which one to go with yet... any thoughts? |

PX4 "C" refers more to a PX4 Compact, not the operating system.
Beretta generally uses one of 4 different operating systems on their pistols: F/FS - Double/single action, safety/decocking lever DS - Double action only , safety lever D - Double action only, no safety lever G - Double/single action, decock only lever As far as I know, only the 92/96 series had an available "D" operating system that was Double Action Only with no safety/decock lever at all. There were a few variants of the 92 series that were available in single action only (Billenium, Combat, Steel I) According to the PX4 Storm website (both .com and .it) the PX4 storm comes in F and G operating systems. The Type F which is the one with the safety/decocker and the Type G which is decock only and after you decock it goes back to fire mode. Since both are double/single action, the trigger shouldn't be any different. The operation wouldn't change the trigger feel anyway. If it was offered in D configuration, it would feel the same as the first shot on your pistol, just that it wouldn't have a single action after that first shot. |

Only have experience with the F type PX4, but I found this thread on a different sight about the C model.

Definitely good info! I didn't know they even made a D operation PX4 nor about this "C" operation.
I stand corrected. I'm glad someone chimed in with the right info and I didn't steer you wrong. The PDF manual on the px4storm website show a picture of the Type D with no safety, but doesn't mention the Type C at all. Must be a rare configuration. |

I have a .40C. Traded a D model for it. I'm not particularly happy with it. Trigger is still heavy (IMO) and the reset is just like a DAO reset (long). If you want to drive to Western WI you're more than welcome to shoot it. ![]() As soon as I can get qualified with my new XD(M) I'm going to start carrying that. |

The one that comes up is the "C" version. Again, has anyone shot this? any experience? I have this in .40. It is a decent gun. No safety, other than the trigger safety. The trigger action on mine is smooth, and fairly light, better than the D or F. If you can't stand the slide safety, and you like the Px4 otherwise, I would go for it - I like mine a lot. |

Go here for instructions on how to do an easy Type F (safety-decock) to Type G (decock-return to fire like the SIG SA/DA). Beretta also makes low profile levers for both the safety and slide catch. Check out the thread. |

The safety lever is now just a decocker, as it flips right back into the "fire" position when released. Now all ive gotta do it grind the safety lever down a bit. thank you everyone for your input... |

You know you can by low profile/stealth safety levers. No grinding needed. |
| Looks like I'm a little late to this party, but I have a PX4 "c". The trigger is not bad, but it's not as light I had hoped. Definitely a shorter stroke than my 92D, but you won't confuse it for a striker fired pistol like a Glock. Very reliable––no misfires that I can think of. |

I HAD one of these pistols. I found the trigger reset to be terrible. Here, I was running a nice course with it. The video is terrible, but you can hear how slow the followup shots are.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4vGm4Jjo0M Here is another video using a Beretta Elite II instead. The pace is a bit faster. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBuqC_r0qU8 The PX4 is a good gun overall. The Type C's trigger was just too long. I sold it last month and put the funds toward a Springfield Armory XDm in 9mm. |
