Woo-hoo!

I stopped in my new favorite gun shop to pick up my .22 Marlin that I had a new trigger installed. I always scope out the used gun case as one never knows what they'll find/see & BINGO! There it was!

1992 92FS S/S Eye-talian mfgr with S/S hi-cap mag! Previous owner had installed the target sights & I do believe I'll keep them.

Extremely LOW wear on the bbl & locking block! I swear it looks like only 1-2 boxes of shells have been run thru the gun!

As always, the obligatory pics of the new gun. Obviously I'm not a po-fessional photographer............

Veeery nice!  I wish I had one in stainless.  And for that matter I wish I had an Italian one too.

Yeah, gonna hafta chill for a while. But shit, deals like an ANIB eye-talian SS 92FS is a hard deal to pass up!

I can't remember the last time I saw one of these for sale at a gun show. Seems like it's been years for the eye-talian made ones.

And to think I was gonna wait until Friday to go out there for my Marlin. The 92 would've most likely been long gone by then...............

BobCole what is the price of that little gem that you discovered if you don't mind me asking?

Wow, Bubba definitely owned that Italian Inox. Looks like they drilled the front sight to put the other one on top of it. The sight picture looks nice though. Do let us know how it shoots.

Any marking as to what sights those are?  My sight just don't seem to work for me,  shot my buddies SR9 better and I can't have that happening.

Looking for any trades> Nice find there - my Italian Inox has been my best pistol since 1992. IMO, these Italian Inox 92's are the cream of the crop. If you decide to part with it, please keep me in mind.

Nah, I'm not bashful as I often ask that myself. It was $549 with Beretta box, one SS mag(!) & one blue mag, both hi-caps. The box lacked a true S/N which leads me to believe there was a cardboard sleeve that went over the plastic box that somehow didn't make the trip for the trade-in.

Well, I'm not sure if it was drilled out or not but it damn sure covers the original front sight like a mofo. It does look like a professional install, which is a blessing on my end, IMO.

I plan to be at the range Friday with this one & my Marlin to check its new trigger.

I was told the rear is a Millett (sp?), but I honestly don't know. I've never seen a front sight like this on a Beretta, myself. I'm gonna take it to the gun show Sat for a little help on maybe getting it ID'd.

How did I know that would be your reply.

Well, I just saved myself $60 for an hour of gunsmithing labor. Today I got my new Wolf recoil, DAO mainspring & trigger return kit. Using the link at the top of the forum, I installed all these myself for a change. Actually, I've done the mainspring myself on my two other 92's.

One thing that was (is) odd about this eye-talian is the mainspring housing pin is a roll pin & not a solid pin. Strangely enough, I had enough sense to not knock the thing all the way out of the frame, just enough to remove the MSH.

I should be able to get to the range this Friday for a range report.

The sights on that gun are Millets and the front has little tensioning pads on them to keep the barrel in the same place. Installation required drilling a hole in the front sight and inserting a roll pin. That said I had some on an old PT92 and they did not work as advertised! I would remove those things that ruin the beauty of the gun.

I thought about doing that but I don't have a OEM rear sight & I'm not sure if the front sight is still OEM.............

Front sight will still be the original. The Millets sight slipped over the original sight that is part of the slide. The old 92's (non Brigadier) models did not have a dovetailed front sight. You will have a nasty looking hole in the front sight though.

Man, I did not know that the Italian Inoxes were in such demand.  I love mine, but if a desperate enough trade offer came along......

That alone is enough to make me leave it alone for the time being then. I'll shoot it this Friday & see how well the Milletts work.

Yes, the older Berettas used a roll pin for the main spring housing. The newer solid pins are much easier to deal with when removing them. Also, I would just leave the pistol as is rather than mess with removing  the sights.
