I just picked up a slightly used 92G model with two hi-caps for $375. The bore looked decent but was hard to confirm as it wasn't cleaned after a few shootings. Not much wear on the barrel from the slide, so I took a chance. A new recoil & hammer spring will also be on order soon.

Pics will come AFTER I clean this dirty SOB up. A pox on gun shops WITH a gunsmith who put out dirty used guns!!!!!

Nice find on a great pistol. Is it an Italian or USA model?

US made, 1992 according to the box. I've already ordered the usual spring replacements from Wolff............

I love the 92G.  I have a couple of thousand rounds through mine without a malfunction.  It's what I carried on duty till my PD switched to .40 and mandated that everyone carry Glock 22's.

Yeah, after having carried Berettas on the job for two years, I'd much rather have the "G" than the M9/92FS.  We carried decocked and off-safe, but it wasn't uncommon to find the safety back on safe after brushing up against gear, vehicle doors, etc.  If I could find a good condition G slide, I'd swap out in a heart beat.

We have the same problem with the M9 in the Army (well, those of us allowed to carry with a round chambered and off-safe).  I bought a 92G as my personal Beretta for just that reason.  I just cannot abide the idea that the safety might become accidentally engaged.  Honestly, I think the 92G is the crown jewel of the Beretta line.

I just have to deal with the standard M9 safety/decocker on-duty.

Check.   It was always funny when we around big .mil folks with a principle, cause a military member would invariably say "Did you know your safety is off."

While it's nice to talk about carrying the M9s with the safety off, I always thought it made more sense to train to "off safe" as part of the draw stroke just in case the safety got swiped on by something.  It's not a Glock or a SIG and it didn't amke sense to me to train as if it were.  Others disagreed.

The best solution was a holster like the Safarliand 6004s or some of the Blackhawk SERPAs that cover the back end of the slide to protect the rear sight, as they also cover the safety on the M9s.   Course, if you're carrying concealed, your options diminish.

But, the nice thing about the SERPAs is they are all modular so you can use the shrouded ones on the drop leg platform, on a belt slide, or on the MOLLE mount up front on your body armor.

ARRGGHHH!!!!!  OMFG!!!  How I hate the "Big Army" mentality!!!

We all used the 6004 holsters or Serpas.  I think our thumb placement verified OFF-SAFE for us (I'm in Germany right now, so I can't go out to the safe and check for sure).
