| ive had mine now for about a month and a half, and put several hundred rounds through it, but i cnt figure something out. what is the little purple rectangular thingy right in front of the rear sight just to the right? it only comes up when i pull the trigger, its driving me nuts not knowing what it does! i feel like an idiot for asking |
I believe it locks the fireing pin in place just incase you drop the weapon and it land on the hammer. Then when you pull the trigger it pops up out of the way so you can discharge the weapon. That is just my opinion. Ps, the front of the extractor will stick out a little when a round is chambered. |
Thats the locking block moving up and down. As your pulling the trigger, the locking block moves out of the way of the firing pin to allow free movement. The locking block locks the firing pin in place so the firing pin doesn't move in the event the M9 is dropped muzzle firsts with the round in the chamber. Kind of like the series 80 plunger on some Colts. |
Thanks for the more detailed reply |
