The INOX is not completly stainless. I compared both of them side by side before getting my plain jane 92FS. The only stainless steel parts i saw on the pistol were the barrel, slide, trigger, safety, and a few other smaller parts..... not to mention the rubber grips. The pistol in the picture sure seems to match the Inox 92FS i handled... as well as the pics and description on Berettas own site. http://www.berettausa.com/product/product_pistols_main.htm |

The extractors on the older guns are silver (nickel or stainless, I'm not sure) and they would chip and break more often. Beretta went to the standard black extractors after that. So later INOX guns have black extractors. If you have a silver extractor, it's an older gun. If it has a black extractor, it's a newer gun. If your's is silver colored, you might want to buy a black extractor and put it in there both to prevent failure, but also to retain value. The original, unbroken extractor might not be worth much more with the gun, but having it will make it a better package down the road, especially if it's unbroken. The black extractor goes well with the grips and tones down the amount of stainless there is. The INOX is an attractive gun IMO. |
