I have a Italian made 92FS and My father has a 92FS made in the USA.

His is a custom one where all of the steel parts have been Hard chromed.

I'm debating doing te same thing to mine Because he has put thousands of rounds through it and does'nt take as good a care of the gun as I do mine but the thing looks brand new. You can't see the wear on the barrel or anything It's amazing. and it looks DAMN SEXY.

What should I do?

I'll Get a Picture of it on here soon... so everyone can see a side by side comparison.

Quit obsessing about your dad's gun & shoot yours more would be my suggestion.

Trust me I get plenty of shooting in... I've just never seen a nicer looking 92FS... mostly I wanted feedback from others who have done the same thing to thier gun. Or at least an opinion about getting that or Duracoat or anything of that nature.

But I appreciate the advice Bob...

Personally, I like the beat up look.  Unless its rusting on you or something, what's the point?  I suppose, once I wear in one of my guns to that point, I may change my opinion.

Personal preference here but I think any M9 / 92F looks horrible in anything but standard black.

You are correct, sir.  Friend had a Taurus in polished stainless.  Just looked whorish.

This is Hard chromed... it's polished nickel... and it was originally a black gun ... only the slide, barrel, hammer, safety, mag release, and trigger are chromed.... everything else is black it's really nice looking... Everyone I've showed it too agree's even my friend who said he'd only get one in black (which he did) and after seeing my father's he wants to do the same thing.... it's nice...

Not knocking your style I would spray paint it black with the closest can of black paint I could find.  I wouldn't have any interest in it.  More power to you there are some weapons that look good chromed or nickel plated hell I have two. (See picture below)  I just wouldnt want a 92F finished in that manner.

All of the sudden, i have that quote from "US Marshals" in my head...

"Get rid of that nickle plated sissy pistol and get yourself a (insert favorite gun brand here)."

Man you guys are harsh.... but first off... You have'nt seen it so you don't know... and as for nickel plated stuff being sissy.... LOL I laugh at that... It wont corrode as easily as regular blued steel... and I state again... the beretta is mostly black... it's two toned... the top is hard chromed... and it looks way more bad ass then any all black 92FS I've ever seen... it's custom... one of only three...

And if your against that... What about getting black Duracoat in one of the multiple shades of black they have.... for better corrosion resistance and wear durability...

Seriously they have like 6 different kinds of black... (sounds funny but it's true)

See for yourself Black duracoat

Or should I buy 6 Beretta's and get one in every shade of black????

what about OD???

If you like it, don't worry about what everyone else says.  Just do it.  Because you're right.  It's a more durable finish.

But you did ask for opinions.

That is true... I suppose I should'a worded it all different... some part of wants feedback from people who have done similar stuff... Im thinking more so about the duracoat now... and I have access to the proper utility spray gun... (cuz I'd hate to pay someone to do something I could do) just wanted some feedback on it all... sigh
