I got two 15rnd magazines with my M9.  A couple of days ago I pulled them out to clean them and reload new ammo into them.  The body was no longer smooth it felt ruff.  I looked at it got out the Rem Oil and tried to remove it, it left a redish color on the rag.  The inside after I cleaned them was like black glass.  But the outside is where this problem is.  So should this be something that concerns me or not?  Also any ideas how to clean them up would be awsome!  They are marked (PB) Made in Italy.

Thanks,
-Martin

Try some #0000 steel wool...nothing heavier than #000 for sure...with a little gun oil, and see if that does not help. It will not remove bluing (but #00 or heavier will) and should polish as well as remove any surface rust.

drill instructor used to tell us to put more elbow grease into it and scrub harder...

but why should you have to do that, when you can use good ideas like the steal wool one...
