Mine sits forward a little bit, but not as much. You could swap out some springs and see if that does anything. Any time I buy a used pistol that looks like it has many rounds through it, I always swap out the springs with a spring kit by Wolff. It is a cheap investment in the life of a pistol. How do the rails and barrel/parts look?
Yeah, I swapped the recoil spring and the hammer spring out on it just to a) be on the safe side and, b) put in the D spring. And the rails actually look pretty good for an Israeli police gun, some scratchs and holster wear in the finish but I fell like I came away pretty good for $400. Thanks for the help.
So I got off the phone with Beretta today and asked them about the slide sitting a little forward on the rails. It's a known issue with ones they make for military / LE contract runs. They don't have as tight a fit tolerance as the commercial ones but are 100% mechanically sound. Mine is an Israeli police gun and fits the serial range for a batch of mil-spec ones they made. Only suggestion the tech had was to cycle the recoil spring and locking block just to make sure that everything is good to go. The other piece of advice he had was to make sure that if the locking block is swapped out, to make sure the new plunger and spring is from one of the same series as the new locking block. Apparently the older ones are slightly different and the plunger and spring don't fit in the new ones.
