Yeah, what was I thinking?

What sucks is about 20 years ago I bought a genuine, at least I thought it was, miles gear belt and suspenders.  I actually used them hunting quite a few times and it's all trashed.  The little metal rings around the holes on the belt are all rusted and oxidized.  It's just nasty.  Maybe it wasn't genuine, as you would think it wouldn't have done that.  But it's been hanging in my basement for about 12 years unused....  I think there might even be mold growing on it.  LOL.  Yuck.

Anyways....  I'll stuff one in there soon for more pics.

Oh crap, top of page.......

Was thinking about getting a MH05 holster for the M9A1 with the M3X, just for shitz and jiggles.

If you shop around in eBay you can find one of the universal holsters made by Safariland years ago the holster is adjustable and you can run it with or without a light attached.

It’s the 3280. It comes in black, FDE, OD green and foliage green but I have ever only seen them in black and FDE. Amazon still has some black ones in stock. The FDE ones you have to source from Ebay or the EE when they pop up. The nice thing is it being a Safariland holster there are lots of accessories available to mount it however you want.

Picked this up today for $550 with three mags. Has some minor finish wear on the other side where the shop owner banged it against something or another.

$550 I could have spent on a perfectly good plastic/striker fired gun, indisputably the future of pistols...but I don't want to be in the future, I want to be in the past.

I'm the same way.....  I just can't get around a polymer gun too much.  Any of the ones I've had I don't shoot as well as my metal pistols.....

Very nice pistol you picked up!!!!!

Thanks. I don’t know what it is, but there’s just something about a metal pistol for me, and sounds like you, too. I’ve carried plastic for years, but I just love a metal gun.

I’d be a liar if I didn’t say that crazy, cyberpunkish gun above didn’t partially motivate the Beretta being my choice.

This is probably one of my favorite wartime photos that I've seen thus far involving the M9. I did multiple searches on the interwebs for it but couldn't find it. It's in a book I own called "Witness Iraq". Photo by Steve Herbert.

That Inox is almost perfect, just needs Inox controls. Beretta's look so much better with the straight dustcover.

Finally done! Had to wait to wait for a new grip bushing to get delivered before I could mount grips and take a pic. Tried some of the BUSA allen head screws and one of them musta been defective. BARELY put any torque on it and it snapped right off!

Hopefully I get a a chance to get to the range later today and put more rounds through it.

ETA: 92A1 with the following upgrades...
LOK thin grips
"D" spring
Elite II hammer
Steel guide rod assembly <-fixed

Steel guide rod assembly is the proper nomenclature...my bad. Guess I souldn't assume that most people knew what I was referring too.

Fixed the original post so we can avoid any further confusion...

Thanks!  I've seen the Inox parts for it but haven't gotten a set yet.  And I too like the straight dustcover, and specifically asked the company I bought it from online to find me one in their stock that had the straight one.  They sent me a photo of it to make sure it was what I wanted and I snapped it up.  I've got a friend that keeps trying to get me to sell it to him and I just can't give it up, I like it too much.

The first one I posted is, the boring 92A1. The second is a gun I saved as a kind of inspiration piece, it belongs to a former SOF guy, you can find an article about it on the firearms blog.

Here’s a boring representative picture, since it’s a picture thread and I’m away from my computer. Mine looks like this, except I thinned down the factory grips because I wanted thin grips, but hate the way aftermarket Beretta grips look. Only thing I’ve done so far to mine is bevel the mag well, drop in a d spring, and the grip thinning I mentioned.

My M9A3 with decocker and some vinyl on it.   I like the pattern enough that I plan to get it hydro dipped.  It was originally bought as a range toy, but with the light on it it's getting used as a nightstand gun, too.

@battleshipgrey

I never got a chance to shoot them left handed. I shot a mag or 2 through it with them and jist couldn't get used to the thumb shelf. Wasn't comfortable at all for me. Sorry I can't give ya any info...

Picked up this set of triplets tonight.  One for me, and two to mothball away for my two boys.  The top and bottom units both have a phosphate finish, which I think means they've been back to the armorer at some point.  They are both in about the same condition.  The middle one is still blued, and in fairly good condition.  The bottom unit has been through the ultrasonic cleaner with just some water and Ballistol.
