pretty pricey just to add .22LR to a 92

I added .40 S&W to mine for cheap

that money for the .22 could be spent on a real, more accurate handgun (IMHO/YMMV/ETC)

I've got one I use for service pistol practice. I really like it. No malfunctions with mine.

I have one. I have only had light strike problems with Winchester M22 with a "D" spring installed. I hated the adjustable rears and replaced it with a std fixed sight. I'll see if I can find a picture.
The mags are a bitch to load without the tool they send with it. I bought 3 more from Brownell's in case I lost one.
When they were around $349 (+ 20% Beretta forum discount) it wasn't a bad price, but the close to $400 price is getting to be too much, at least for me.

Please forgive the potato level picture

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to reply, order placed.  With the 10% promo code and my Beretta forum discount it came out to $329.35 delivered.

Yeah, they make limited runs of them and they always go quickly.  I have one.  Its nice, but my CZ Kadet adapter has been significantly more reliable and accurate.

What is the conversion material? Alloy or steel?

Do they fit 92 compacts?

The slide is aluminum and the barrel is steel. They will fit compacts like a normal 92 slide would, there will be a gap between the front of the frame and the slide.

Had one for years. Interestingly, the price is about the same as 2001...
