The locking block has been a source of trouble right?

The Taurus block should fit but you really should consider getting a factory Beretta block. Beretta has made small changes to the block that make it much more durable.

My local range has put in Taraus locking blocks into their Beretta 92's no problem. The Taraus blocks are a lot cheaper, but they are prone to breakage. The Taraus locking blocks are a LOT cheaper.
