I found a 92d for sale online.

There is no slide safty, woot!

Hammer is bobbed and it say it DA only.

The DAO bumms me out. I can live with a DA/SA with a bobbed hammber but a DAO I do not know.

90% I would say thoughts, price?

I do not want to learn it, can I get parts to convert it to SA/DA?

It's easier (and probably cheaper) to buy a 92FS than convert a 92D. I don't care for DAO Berettas or Sigs, I'd pass.

FS slide will be $200 or so and another $7-100 for hammer, sear, sear spring, sear pin, DA/SA hammer. Buy an FS if that's what you want and save a lot of hassle.

This.

Take a FS & swap out the trigger return spring, mainspring & recoil spring & you can have as smooth a trigger pull as the DAO model. Converting just isn't worth the time, effort or $$$$, IMO.

Humm, I do not want the FS slide, I want a model w/o the slide safty. This one has a frame safty.

I guess it is not to be...

Then look at the "G" model, decock only. Beretta doesn't make a smooth side slide except for the DAO model.

So the one you're looking at has a frame mounted safety? Do you have a pic or a link?

I love the Beretta 92D, I just picked up a used cop trade-in one last week that was made in 1992. Trigger pull is long and not super light, but is smooth. It's a very accurate gun with a little trigger time.

I hate DA/SA, but love the looks of Beretta 92's, so the 92D is the best of both worlds for me.

92D's tend to be a tad cheaper on the used market as well even though they're not super common. I paid $400 for mine.

The 92Ds I've owned and shot have the nicest DAO trigger pull I've ever felt.

There's a reason for this. That's because by & large, gun owners don't want the DAO models. They languish on dealer's shelves until the odd buyer comes in for one. Some PD's require a "safe" or DAO action I believe that's the only reason Beretta came out with this model, IMO.

I LOVE BERETTA DAO PISTOLS!!!

http://berettaforum.net/vb/showthread.php?t=91669&highlight=slick+slides

A properly broken in DAO Beretta will have the smoothest trigger and with some practice, you'll be shooting it better than your other pistols.  Not to mention that mastering such trigger control will make you a better shooter with other platforms as well.

GO FOR IT!!!

I agree. The DAO Beretta is not like most other DAO semi-autos out there when it comes to the trigger pull. It's even better than the first shot on a 92FS with a D spring in place.
