I have had my M9 for around 8 months now and shoot it okay, but not great. I recently noticed that I shoot my USP much better and feel that I can attribute this to the flatter trigger surface on the HK verses the rounded trigger face of the Beretta. I feel like I pull or push my shots more with the Beretta trigger. Short of modifying my trigger, are there any options for a differently contoured trigger for the 92 series?

This isn't a deal breaker for me at all and I may pick up a D spring to see if it helps some. Just curious.

You could try a short reach trigger.

I think you're on the right track there, IMO.

Allow me to suggest three things & all will cost ya around $25-30 total.

1) Order your "D" mainspring.

2) IF you have a METAL trigger, order a REDUCED power trigger return spring kit (captured) from Wolff Gunsprings.

3) Bump up the recoil spring by 3lbs~ in order to compensate for the lower mainspring weight rating. After all, cocking the hammer also acts to slow down the slide & you're making that job easier with a "D" spring.

I also strong urge you to both practice dry firing a LOT (I do mine at the tv during the news    ) & run the gun wet with oil. I run mine SO wet that it mists my shooting glasses. OTOH, mine doesn't puck during an USPSA match either.

Thank you for the feedback. As you have advised, I have been working on dry firing a good bit with the M9 lately and will pick up the "D" mainspring soon. I hadn't thought about the higher power recoil spring, so thanks a bunch on that one.

I was just surprised to see that I was pushing shots a little left of center last time out shooting with the Beretta while I was dead center with the USP. As I thought about it, I noticed that the convex trigger face of the M9 was causing me to push the trigger ever so slightly, while the flat face of the USP trigger was helping me to make consistent, straight pulls.

Thanks!

Some say to up the recoil spring a pound or two because of the D spring. The majority of us D spring guys do not up the recoil spring weight. Just change it every 3-3.5k rounds.

3lbs seems a bit too high to me. That's the highest I've seen commented upon due to the D spring.

What is the comparible weight of the "D" Mainspring/ Hammer Spring?
I am wanting to replace mine but they are out of stock at Beretta and Brownells.
Wolff Springs has some but they go by weight?

Any other souce for a Beretta "D" Mainspring would also be helpful

Thanks

Wolff lists which are the OEM spring weights in almost all of their springs, IIRC? Simply look for the OEM listing & then drop accordingly. I believe I went with their lowest rated MS & haven't had any ignition issues what so ever.

I dont see anything listed as OEM, I am wanting the same weight as the "D" spring because from what I have read you dont give up any reliability with it.
I will call the above shop tomorrow, thanks!
