Hello everyone I don't post often, but have learned an enormous amount from this site and am confident you all will be able to help on this one!!

I recently received a brand new M9 as a gift.  As you can imagine I was excited to say the least and couldn't wait to get to the range.  First time at the range had 4 FTF in 100 rounds.  Also what was weird is three times I pulled the trigger and the hammer did not fall.  Thought it was just me not used to the trigger.  Took it home gave it a thorough cleaning.  Next time at the range same thing with four different types of factory ammo.  Again the trigger could get pulled all the way to the rear and the hammer would not fall.  This happened randomly.

Got home and tried pulling the trigger at various speeds.  If pulled slowly to the stop, the hammer would not fall.  Replaced the trigger bar and solved that problem, hammer falls every time now.  However, still having the FTF.   On each one it seems the firing pin is not striking the primer full force.  Now I'm thinking something with the firing pin.  Disassembled the slide, everything appears to be intact.

Now I am hitting a roadblock.  Feeling my trigger bar was out of spec, due to the fact that the hammer now falls with a new one, I'm wondering what else might be out of spec?  Not wanting to replace it piece by piece does anyone now of anyplace I can find the lengths of the firing pin and spring to see if maybe out of spec?

Sending it back to Beretta is not a real option as it was purchased years ago and is out of the warranty period.   It was new in the box, never fired.   Anyone have any other thoughts or suggestions?

I really like the way this pistol shoots when it does, but obviously can not depend on it at all right now.

Thanks in advance for all your help!!

If you got the pistol as a gift, they why not send it back to Beretta, warranty or not?

bruce21b:  Thanks for the site, I'll head over there and ask!

RedFalcon:  As far as sending back, Beretta has been less than cooperative on it.  They directed me to one of their repair facilities.  I contacted them and because it is out of warranty, the price range they were giving me was rivaling the cost of a new pistol.

It was free, wasn't?

Beretta USA is not the best company when it comes to getting things done. You do have to push.

It was free, yes.  It's the fact that it was a brand new pistol and they are not wanting to cover it because of the purchase date.  I will be pressing them further this week though.  Thanks.
