| I am putting a AAC eco 9 can on my INOX and need some advice. First what company would you all recommend to thread the barrel? Second would a crimson trace grip laser work with the suppressor(shine past the suppressor)? I am concerned that the can will block the factory sghts. |
| I've seen quite a few people recommend Tornado Technologies and EFK Fire Dragon for threading services and pre-threaded barrels. |

The only 92 I ever shot with a can did indeed block the use of the front sight. No clue as to the mfgr of the can as this was 3-4 years ago. I'd check measurements closely on the cans you're looking at to see how many (if any) allow normal sight usage. Could be a more modern use of newer designs/materials allow a smaller O.D. that won't block the sight?
I believe I would also opt to using a threaded aftermarket bbl versus threading my OEM bbl, IMO. My .o2 |
| Is there a specific reason why you would use an aftermarket threaded barrel vs. threading your own? Also is there a company what sells stainless steel threaded barrels for a decent price? I have only seen one. They were out of stock and asking $300. That seems a little extreme for a barrel to a gun that only cost me $450. |

Did you have your barrel threaded or is that a factory threaded or aftermarket threaded barrel?
How would I deal with Tornado Tech? I have tried emailing and calling several different companies and have yet to reach anyone or get a response. When calling Tornado they tell you to just fill out the paperwork and send them the item. In this case would I just send the barrel with the paperwork and trust that they will get right on it? They seem to have a good rapport. |

I ended up getting a spare factory barrel and sending that to Tornado but sending the one that came with the pistol would have worked just as well. I followed the instructions and everything went fine. Tornado does a LOT of Beretta barrels and I would trust them to "get it right". They have a good rep for a reason. Tornado often sells factory barrels already threaded on gunbroker and if you want to save a little time this might be the way to go. I just checked and here's one with a buy it now option. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=245828922 ADCO is another company that does good work and often has a faster turn around time then Tornado. |

Time is really on my side. The shop quoted me 4 weeks until they recieve the suppressor and another 3 months until the paperwork is complete so I am thinking Thanksgiving time.
The only problem I have with those barrels are that mine is Stainless so I am thinking a black barrel will appear a little odd whenever the suppressor isn't being used. I have no problem sending my barrel out to a company to thread, I just want to get it right the first time around and not run the risk of getting lost in the shuffle. |

I know you already ordered up an AAC Eco-9 suppressor, but for future potential readers, it might be a good idea to check out the Silencerco Osprey suppressor. It isn't concentric/centered around the bore. The baffels and the bulk of the height is actually below the bore line.
EDIT: Nevermind, you can't use the factory sights with it either. |

Sorry about that, I completley missed the INOX part. I wouldn't put a black barrel on an INOX gun either. The reason I bought a spare barrel was so that I could continuwe to shoot the pistol while the barrel was out being worked on. I'm not sure you want to do that but I'd trust Tornado to do it right no matter what you end up doing. If it were me I'd be sure and specify I wanted a stainless thread protector to match the barrel. I hope they would do that anyway but it probably wouldn't hurt to put that in writing. |

Have you checked Bar-Sto & Cylinder & Slide for already made threaded bbl's? Seems like I recall seeing Bar-Sto either making them or offering it as an option? I also think an aftermarket bbl might offer more "bite" for a can, i.e. more threads via a longer length bbl. Plus, should you ever wish to sell/trade the gun, all you have to do is drop in the OEM original bbl & it's completely factory original. Once that OEM bbl is threaded, it's changed forever. Obviously one could buy another Beretta bbl, but I prefer to leave my original goodies original & just swap a part here or there. I wouldn't dream of threading my Inox bbl, FWIW. My .o2 |

Big negative on Bar-sto, price will easily exceed $300 for a threaded barrel and if I read correctly they just thread their oem barrels which would be the exact size of my factory barrel.
Never again will I ever sell a gun, so don't have to worry about that scenario. Seems to only end in regret. Going with ADCO, actually feel really comfortable about the decision after checking some of their threads and corresponding via email with Steve. |

If you’re going to have ADCO thread your barrel then no problem, I recommended them in my previous post. If you‘re talking about having them extend and thread your barrel then I’d recommend Tornado. |
| Beowulf, you were the first to bring ADCO to my attention. I like the fact that they actually responded to me. This is my first venture into the custom work world, although it isn't a substantial issue to others, I get a little anxious and need a certain amount of coddling. I asked about the length issue with the barrel and they assured me the factory barrel is long enough. I searched a few of the threads those guys were involved in and coupled that with the others that also recommended them and I hope I made a good choice. Another factor that played into the decision is that I checked Tornado's site and they are now not accepting any new work until Oct. 18th. |
