Picked up my first Beretta today. I have been kind of glancing at 92/M9's for about a month. Found a 92FS that could easily pass for NIB and took it home for $410 OTD. I was with my BIL when he bought one new in April of 94 so I had to run over and show it to him. We got to looking at the ser #'s and it appears his is a bit newer than mine by maybe a year or so. I must say, after the last 5 straight handgun purchases being Glocks, I feel like I got something for my money. |
| Glad you got a Beretta. I recently picked up one myself that was like new. Mine was made in 1992 in Italy. I was happy to get an older one and here's why: The newer models use some polymer parts such as the trigger and guide rod. Some of the newer ones also have a different dust cover shape that I don't like. I do like the accessory rail on some of the newer ones and the grip shape of the vertec model. I'm very happy with my older pistol. If I wanted polymer pieces, I shoot one of my Glocks. |

Quess I should have stated mine is a US made gun. The real advantage I see to the newer models is the replacable fron sight. If you have a replacable front sight then you don't have a 92FS, you got a 92A1. The 92A1 is the newest model Beretta and has a bunch of differences from your buddies 92. *Edit* I might have read it wrong, You bought a 92FS but are talking about the 92A1? |
