I have a P229 SCT - I love it, except for the trigger. I would really like the shorter reset that the SRT trigger offers.

To get this done, is my only option to send it back to Sig Sauer? Do any gunsmiths offer this service?

For those of you who had this done, what was the turnaround time? Were you satisfied with the result?

I am in the same boat.  Just bought my 226 SCT.  All of the sig certified gunsmiths I have seen online range from $225 - 285.  Then shipping, and the wait.  I was quoted 3 weeks to 3+ months for work.

I would like to send mine to SIG since it is only $100+ shipping.  But dont know the turn around time.

If you can find the parts online the swap is really easy to do.

Anyone know a vendor that sells the parts?

there is a guy on sigforum.com that sells them.  I bought mine for $50 on there, took about 10 min to install it.  used the schematic on brownells.com to make sure I put it back together right.

also perfect upgrade.  makes the reset almost nothing!  double taps are perfect!!!  makes the reset more like the glocks, that's the best comparison I have.

PM sent.

I just got mine today.  Installed easily enough.  The reset is such a vast improvement.  I definately feel the hammer and seer rubbing in about the last 1/3 of the DA pull... but it's a minor annoyance that I think will improve with round count and a little Flitz polishing.  The improved SA and reset is so worth it IMO.

+1 on this... I am also interested in getting an SRT kit and have an armorers DVD so I'll put it in myself.

Someone sell them occasionally on the EE here. I picked up one last year for $90 and installed it myself. Only took 15-20 min.

Does the SRT affect the weight of the trigger pull (in either the DA or SA modes) or does it just shorten the reset?

Somewhare I read that it increased the weight of the DA pull ever-so-slightly.

Personally, I don't feel it.

The reduced reset is VERY noticable, though.
