I have a 220 that I picked up used and one of the magazines is giving me a little grief. The fed lips are good, the steel follower fits correctly, and the magazine has no dents or bulges, the spring is straight and free from defects, however after loading the mag the first round will feed but the rest are stuck in the mag. I can shake out all the remaining rounds but the one contacting the follower stays hung up until I pry it loose. Then the round, follower and spring go for a rip up to the feed lips!
Has anyone else had an issue like this? Do you think it could be as simple as spring? Also if I were going to get a couple of new mags what type do the masses suggest? Factory, ACT-NOVAC, Mec-Gar, Etc? |
| Disassemble the magazine and see if the follower moves freely from the bottom of the mag tube to the feed lips with gravity. If there is no binding then it sounds like your spring coils are somehow getting tangled when the spring is under compression. Try to replace the spring from another working magazine and see if that works. Otherwise Novak's are good or Mecgar (the OEM manuf for Sig.) |
