Is this the Sig I need if I want interchangable slides and barrels.
I cannot decide if I want a 226 (9mm) or 220 (45acp) or a 40 cal. I figured I would get one that coulc handle them all. Natron |

I'd stick with a P220 or a P226
If you want to change out the barrels then you'll need the P226 in .40 or 357 then you'll be able to swap out the barrels and change calibers. You can even buy a bar-sto 9mm conversion barrel for $200 and shoot 9mm. The P220 is dedicated .45ACP and cannot be changed unless you get the P220 2-step which comes in 22LR and you can swap the slide and barrel to shoot .45ACP Don't get the P250 IMO I've heard bad things... |

I just bought the SIG P250 2SUM in 9mm for $726 and it may be the best carry/big gun option on the market. Best DAO trigger ever. Flawless operation and very easy to go back and forth from full-size to sub-compact. |

| You just need to buy the Sub-Compact slide/barrel combo and the Sub-Compact Grip Module. According to SIg, the Frame and FIre Control Assembly fits ALL calibers and sizes. It looks like the Grip Modules for each size(Full, Compact, and Sub-Compact are all interchangeable for all calibers except 45ACP. Ex. If you have a Full size 9mm pistol, you can biuy a 40s&w barrel/slide and use the Grip Module that you have. You cannot do this with 45ACP because of the physical size. You need a Grip Module of each pistol size(Sub-Compact, Compact, and Full because of barrel/slide length. Hope this hellps. This is the smoothest DAO trigger ever! |

My mom bought one for a carry piece back in NOV...she has probably put 500-800 rounds down range with no issues reported to me at least. She likes the weight and the controls, I messed around with it for awhile after she bought it and I was somewhat impressed at the ingenuity behind it.
I think that for a standalone handgun, it is a solid piece, however, I think SIG has failed to let the platform live up to its modular potential through dragging their feet with overpriced conversions. YMMV. |

In fact it was originally designed as a 9mm. They made it large enough to accommodate the .45acp with an eye on future US sales. It was also introduced in the US in .38 super. In Europe it was available in 9mm Luger, .30 Luger and .22LR. After market conversions were made inthe US for .40 super and .400 Cor-Bon as well. There were some ST versions even custom made in 10mm I believe. |
| my wife actually picked one up today. sub-compact 9mm. She said it just felt right in her hand, she still has to get used to the double action trigger but so far today i was really impressed with how it shot although i may need to get a shorter front sight as it shot low. Also may just need to be broke in. |
| I'm thinking about picking up a P250 Subcompact 9mm. I used to own a M&P 9c, but could never get used to it's trigger. I now own a Kahr PM9 & absolutely love it's long & smooth trigger. I've shot a buddies P250 compact .45, but that was before I owned the Kahr. |
| Picked up a P250 compact in 45 ACP last week for 450.00 (yeah, special pricing). Put about 100 rounds downrange today. I am very impressed with the overall feel of the gun, I hate the DAO trigger. It is way too stiff and way too long. It is going in for trigger work ASAP. I have so much trigger time with my P226 that i will never be happy with anything short of the DA/SA of the 226 but maybe with some work I will learn to enjoy shooting the 250 as much. |

I'm glad people are saying good things about this. I was in the local Sportsmans Warehouse checking prices on a Ruger GP100 when I saw a full size P250 9mm Nitron marked $350 sitting right next to an apparently identical one marked $530. I asked the counter guy if it was consignment or mismarked, he checked it twice then got a sneaky look on his face and kind of rushed the transaction - "My last name isn't 'Warehouse'" he said.
I knew nothing about this model, I've been kind of half-ass looking for a 220 or 229 for a while, but really was just in there to get out of the house and because I thought my local dealer had a good price on the GP100 (which he did, $75 less than Sportsman's). Me and the counterman figure someone switched the 3 and the 5 or something. I kind of feel bad that I now can't get the GP100 from my local dealer, but I just couldn't pass that up. Anyway, I now have a pistol I know nothing about in a caliber I wasn't planning on getting at a time that I don't have the money. This kind of thing doesn't happen to me so I keep expecting to find that I got a first generation that is known to explode or it's made of toxic waste and fecal matter or something. You're saying that there's a caliber conversion kit for these things? |

My wife has 2 of the 9mm compacts. We got her 2 so she would have an identical back up weapon. One is all black the other had the SS slide. Both shoot excellent and we have not had a problem with them. We got the P250 because they fit my wife's hands, slides are easy for her to work, & the slide release is also easy for her. We have close to 1,000 rds in each weapon, and she took them to a 4 day handgun course and they both worked flawless. We even purposely did not clean them to see how they would hold up. No problems. We ran WWB and Rem green/white box threw them.

Speaking of the DAO trigger - I haven't got to the range yet, but I've noticed a couple of spots on the trigger that seem ... 'crunchy' is the best word I can think of. It doesn't feel like a poor finish on parts exactly, but I haven't torn it apart to get in there to look, it almost feels like a spring binding.
There are 2 spots on the pull that I notice this and while I can certainly deal with it, it reminds me of a Ruger. I kind of expected more from Sig, but then again this did cost less than a Ruger so I can't complain too much. At least not until I shoot it |

Any tips for a IWB holster for the P250 SUBcompact 9mm? Can't seem to find a lot online.... Crossbreed's website says that it doesn't work with the subcompact/rounded trigger guard... but I saw one forum post on Google that said it worked fine –– before I spend $$$$ I would like to know for sure. |
| Might want to poke around here for a bit. Not very active forum, but it's devoted to the P250 and they've tried out a few (the link goes to the first holster thread I found, I know there are more) |

I put a few hundred through mine last weekend without a single issue. Ran flawlessly on a couple kinds of lower end ammo (UMC and PMC, I think). Swapping back and forth between it and a GP100 helped the trigger to feel light and clean, too.
Sure, 300 or so isn't enough for most people to draw conclusions, but there are a goodly number of people around here that won't believe that I have a 1911 that has run flawlessly through a several thousand. So the "P250 SUX" crowd isn't likely to change their mind based on this, but that doesn't bother me. Anymore than it should bother them that I won't buy a Glock |

I'd stick with a P220 or a P226 If you want to change out the barrels then you'll need the P226 in .40 or 357 then you'll be able to swap out the barrels and change calibers. What exactly, were the "bad things" you heard, given your comment seemingly dissuaded the initial poster?? |

I own a 250 and it's fantastic. I aslo own 220 (3) 225 (2) 226 (3) 228/229/ 2340.. All have been 100% Take the advice of people who actually own and shoot the guns as opposed to those who "have heard bad things" |
