avengeusa,
obviously I like the Sig's as I've chosen one for my carry-gun.

You might look at my post regarding the trigger - other than that, buy away !!

And welcome.

I have many friends among the members of I-SIG who own a P220. And I've yet to find one of them that isn't happy with the gun.
Going for a 220, you can't do much wrong IMO.

And welcome to the SIG-Clan.

I'm in the same boat.  I ran across a used P220 in 98%+ condition in a gun shop last week and I can't stop thinking about it.  Could anyone tell me what it might be worth?  It's newer style, all blued (nitron?), only shows wear on slide-barrel contact (minor and expected).  It looks like someone shot 2-4 boxes through it and traded off.  I think I might be able to get it for right around the $500 mark.

Thanks in advance.

the first one i looked at was about 85-90%, and the guy wanted $575.00, i think it is too much, i know i could get a new one for 675+ tax, and i may go that route if i cannot find a better deal

Thanks for the #'s, guys.  Looks like someone beat me to the used on I saw last week.  I'll have to keep my eyes open.  New for $550?  That would be a done deal.  Most ND gunshops I've been to aren't budging an inch on their high-end stuff (even used).  Thanks for the tip.

Hi there Avengeusa, I forwarded your request to I-SIG as there are quite a number of P220 owners on there, so maybe someone wants to let go of his for a fair price or has info on a NIB.
I'll keep you posted.

Update!  I was back in said gunshop today, returning a scope base and noticed the Sig I had been looking at was still there.  Salesman said that someone had put it on hold and negotiated trade-in and such, and the deal fell through.  I felt this must be fate(my wife argues this point), so I looked her over(the gun, not the wife), yep 98%+, with case, triggerlock, 2 mags.  Took it home for $500(and tax), and shot it this afternoon.  Real nice pistol!!  Forgot ear plugs though, my ears are still ringing 5 hours later.

Avenge USA, aren't the stainless slide models worth quite a bit more?  I thought those were the P220 Sport or something like that.  I thought I read that they retailed for a few hundred more than the standard P220.

controlfreak-
SIG also produces the P220 with a black alloy frame and a nickel plated carbon steel slide. The "two tone". These guns are sometimes mistaken for having stainless steel slides.

The 220 has to be The Most Reliable Out-of-the-box 45acp pistol made. Hunt around and there was a recent test where they ran 10,000 rounds through a 220 in one session. Pretty interesting. If I can find a copy I'll post a link to it here.
