| Read somewhere that you can order barrels to turn a Sig p229 .40 into a 9mm. Obviously Sig does not sell the barrels, but I am unable to locate a site that does. Any help would be appreciated. |

| Barsto and EFK both make them. By far the most experience over on sigforum is with the Barsto conversion. I just got the last one from Topgunsupply for my P229 and it drops right in (barsto says this happens around 70% of the time but I suspect it's much higher). If it doesn't drop in then you can ship it to barsto for them to fit it custom (no charge after shipping). I've heard different things but mine has been 100% with 9mm mags without FTF or FTE. Groups are slightly lower than the 40s&w secondary to the different front sights on the 9mm vs 40 P229. |

I recently bought a Bar-sto conversion barrel for a Sig 239, converting from .357Sig to 9mm. (my department no longer uses .357Sig, and no longer authorizes it for duty or off duty carry).
It took every bit of the 14 weeks that Bar-sto said it would. The barrell dropped in with no fitting, and has been absolutely reliable and accurate with all of the different 9mm ammo I've tried. I have even been using the .357Sig magazines without trouble. I'm a satisfied customer, Bar-sto barrels are good stuff. |

+1 for barsto. I happened to get mine when it was an "in stock special" so it took a whopping 1 week to get it. It was even threaded! Not so on the 40cal threaded barrel :-(
Took one trip to the range to break it in..had a couple FTEs with a Trident. Purrs like a kitten now.. |
