| Anyone have a Sig 230/232? How do you like it? Pros , cons........ Pics |

I have a P230 in stainless steel.. I really enjoy it, it conceals well due to its narrowness.. never had any problems with it.. I would love to give it a trigger job and/or convert it to DAO (its SA/DA now).. the heal mag latch does take some getting use to though..
You will get a lot of ppl dissing the .380 as being inadequate.. But to each their own.. BUT the baby glocks give you 10 rd of 9mm for about the same size (but the glock is thicker) good luck Brian |

I don't want to just life the image, so I'll point you to a thread with a stainless P232, with Nill grips in the first post.

I have the 230 in SS. It's really the only gun I carry. I bought it just for the purpose of a carry gun mostly because it met all of my criteria.....able to shoot SA, not terribly heavy, one of the thinnest guns in .380 (at least it was 12 years ago when I bought it!), Sig's reputation for building reliable, quality stuff.
I do really like it and have no cons other than the caliber. I'm OK with the .380 (or I wouldn't be carrying it), but I'd much prefer at least a 9mm. Problem is finding a 9mm that fits the above criteria. Love the Glocks, but they're just a bit bulky/thick for me to carry comfortably, and AFAIK, most or all of the available small 9's are DAO......deal-breaker for me. |

I bought a P232 for summer carry, love the gun. Very lightweight and easy to conceal. The .380 is a very formitable round if you are proficient with it. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/237/3263421241_a42c0d0fc7.jpg?v=0 +1 I use mine for warm weather carry here in Vegas when I just have a t-shirt on and I use the Clip-Draws on both my 239 and my 232 and they work great....very secure and doesn't add any bulk. Just put the clip over your pants/shorts and then do your belt over that and snug it down real tight. I tried the Clip-Draws for awhile and then sold my holsters. |

Then for some dumb-assed reason I sold it. Recently I got tired of kicking myself in the ass, now I have a 232, and love it. I haven't been bit by the slide yet, possiblt due to the Houge grips. Anyone know what was changed between the 230 and the 232? my guess is loaded chamber indicator, but to be honest I don't remember if my 230 had that or not. |

Getting bit by the slide is simply a hand position that is just a tad to high. I've been carrying a P230 since the early 90's as my BUG and off duty and never had a problem getting bit. It has been beat to hell over the years and had several thousand rounds through it but it still goes bang every time I pull the trigger.
As far as the caliber, yes, there are a couple 9mm's out now that are close in size. After having shot them my dislike is with our Ranger 127gr +P+ duty ammo the little 9's are a handful to hold onto. I old comment about caliber doesn't matter if you can't place a shot really comes into play. IMHO, the P230/P232 are fantastic guns....way better than my Walther PPK/PPKs's I have. |
