| Last weekend while teaching a CCW class I let a student borrow my P6. Unknown to me he was using reloads and during a string of shots a sheel exploded in the gun. He wasn't hurt but my gun suffered some damage. I need to replace the extracor and a grip on the right side. So far I've had no luck in finding either. Does anyone know of a place where I can pick these up. |

www.sigsauer.com.Just got some grips for mine.Paid $21.95 plus shipping.
You must have gotten lucky! I contacted Sig a few weeks back and was told they were out and would not get more as the P225/P6 platform was discontinued! The website shows the grips as 'Out of Stock' and has for some time now. I did pick up a new set from a member over at the Falfiles, but for a few more $$$. |
| Well I went ahead and took the gun apart and it wasn't too hard after all. I was able to work on the extractor and bend it back so that it works fine. I was lucky enough to find a corrct size roll pin at a hardware store for the outer pin. I was able to reuse the inner. I took it to the range yesterday and everything worked flawlessly. I will continue to look for another extractor in case I need it later. |

This is the one thing that bothers me about the P6. I love the gun, but it worries me that replacement parts may not be available if necessary in the future.
I suppose I'll keep shooting it until/if anything breaks, and if I can't get it fixed, I'll sell it to another P6 owner for parts. Still though, I have a P228 and a stamped slide P220 that are in the same boat as this any more. These were the best SIGs. Are the glory days over? |
