Would it be reasonable to assume that the P250 isn't going over very well? There is a gunshop I frequent and it's the XDs, Glocks, and other polymer guns that are selling well also for around $500. To get the P250 it's $600 plus easily. Secondly, most of the topics are about SIG's other pistols yes I understand the other guns represent the majority but still I don't sense the enthusiasm. Opinions, please.

I'm waiting until they have too many that aren't selling to try one.

New Grip frames and calibers should be out soon... the popularity will grow when accessories are finally here.

I like what I see of the 250 but my thoughts have been all along that they waited much too long to introduce it here in the US. Still, it has much to recommend it as a service pistol to agencies that simply do not want a 'short trigger' system. I can tell you that there is zero interest around these parts by either local or state LE agencies (I work at the Regional Academy) in any Sig, but I suppose that might change if a large agency should adopt one. For sure I think they should have sent the guns out without night sights and with an extra magazine at a lower price if they wanted civilian sales. But things could change I guess...certainly I have no crystal ball.

Until all of the conversion kits come out, it is just another next-gen plastic wonder gun in a very saturated market.   Once they are out and readily available, and just as importantly, we know how much the street price will be, things might change.    The concept intrigues me, but information released so far has the conversion kits priced at or above similar complete pistol offerings from other manufacturers which pretty much invalidates the "2 for 1" advantage, minus a trip to the local dealer.   If Sig goes hardcore trying to enforce their new MAP policy on the kits (making discounted online/mailorder sales more difficult), I'm not sure they'll be all that successful - at least I won't be interested.   If I can get two pistols of equivalent quality elsewhere for the same price of a P250 + a conversion kit, we'll - I'd personally rather two complete pistols.

I have checked out a couple at some local shops and loved the grip and overall feel of the gun.  I have always wanted a sig pistol.  They are selling around here for 630-710 plus tax.  I looked around and bought a new one off Gunbroker for 539 + 15 sh.  I should have by the middle of the week Im hoping.  I hope it tuns out to be a great gun.  I wish it did come with 2 mags and I like the fact it already has nites.

I'm looking for a new carry pistol, so I'm just waiting for the SC models to hit the shelves before I make a purchase.  I do think that other posters are correct in that if SIG doesn't offer the conversion kits at a substantial discount, the whole project will be a flop.

Just waiting for the full size model, does anyone know when that is going to pop out?

Full Size model will probably hit by the end of the year.  I know they aren't releasing any the sub/full size until all of the compacts are out (357/40/45) which will probably be end of summer maybe even a little later.

I just assumed it was the weak dollar=less purchasing power on items made abroad.  Or is this made in the states??  I believe Glocks are also made abroad, but I'm assuming the manufacturing equipment has pretty much paid for itself several times over by now.

I've been considering purchasing one, but with one mag - and extra mags costing $41 via Buds Gun Shop - I may very well go with a S&W M&P.

I picked up a two-tone on gunbroker.com for about $550 and I love it.  I found mags for $29.95 online with $5.95 shipping no matter how many you buy.

The biggest issue I have is finding a gold holster.  Blackhawk now has carbon fiber holster specifically for the P250 but they have been back ordered for a while.

I'm really waiting on the 45 ACP kit to make this a really worthwhile purchase, but I'm pleased with the 9mm version.

There are several things that are working against it:

- Sig people like Alloy or steel guns. That's often what brought them to Sig to begin with.
The Sig Pro is/was also on the ass-end of polymer pistol sales.

- Double action only (not pretensioned stiker, just a straight up D.A.O.)

- Price

- It's a new thing. Let someone else be the guinea pigs and have them buy it and break it first.

I am very interested in these guns but I want them in a DA/SA.  As well as throwing in an extra mag would not hurt.  I will pay for the extra quality I can get in a Sig but I am still a little jaded about paying $30 for mags.

Anything can happen but my guess is you will never see these guns made in standard DA/SA. In fact my WAG is you will see fewer and fewer models offered with that action in the next several years. The future is shortened, lightweight DAO and pretensioned strikers such as the Glock / M&P and even now very few LE agencies are interested in even looking at DA/SA guns for purchase.

Its interesting that this is the route they have gone with this pistol, seeing as the Glock/XD/MP lines all do so well with their trigger systems.  I also think its ironic that the SigPro sold so poorly, I had a SP2022 for a while and it was easily as high quality as any other polymer frame gun out there.  Heck, it felt (and shot) better than even a HK USP.

I'm certainly not interested in a DAO pistol.  I like the idea of the modularity, but I feel Sig is going to screw the pooch on this one by pricing the accessories too high for the market to bear.  The gun itself is already over priced considering its direct competition.

What attracted me initially was the promise of the modular design.  There was some apprehension as I compared it to the Glock 19, but in the end I bought the P250 mostly based on my previous experience with Sigs and --- to be honest --- the feel of the pistol in my hand.  I can always buy a Glock 19 later, and I probably will.  They are great handguns.

So far I have not been disappointed despite my initial concerns with the DAO trigger.  As many others have commented, the trigger pull is long yet smooth as butter with just the right amount of pull.  It reminds me of a revolver.  The compact medium grip size also fits my hand instinctively.  It's hard for me to find something not to like about the P250, except that Sig has been slow to release the upgrade packages.

The P250 may never reach the legendary status of its competition, but if it performs equally as well in other calibers as it does in 9mm, I'll be happy to be one of the few who love it.

I was intrigued but thought the shell felt kind of cheap. Not what I would expect from a Sig. I shot it and it was accurate and all, but i'm not getting one. All it has over my 226s is a slight weight advantage and a shorter barrel. The advantage over my 228 and 9mm 229 is one round in the magazine (if I use my 15 round mecgars, and I do)
