Great weapon, light weight, hi-cap mags, reliable and nice ergonomics with the changable backstraps.

I think its a real winner.

Some people get weapons with creepy triggers, or other trigger related woes, but overall, The few that I've handled were very nice.

Go for it!
They have the cheapest hi-cap mags I've ever seen, and the mag quality is superb. Not joking.

I purchased a SIG Pro SP2022 late last year.  Actually, I bought it from JasonCookUS (who gave me an excellent deal BTW). happy
Out of 10 DA/SA SIGs that I own, only one had a better trigger out of the box than my SP2022.  I mean, this thing is freaking unbelieveable!  The trigger was very smooth.  The trigger pull is standard SIG weight and distance.  The reset seems slightly less than a classic series SIG, but that could just be an illusion.  The SA trigger pull was great.

The controls of the SIG Pros are slightly different than the classic series.  For me, the SIG Pro series fits my hand better.  I don't have to change my grip to drop the mag, release the slide or decock the hammer.  I haven't messed with the other grip, I've just been really happy with how this one felt!

The disassembly of the SIG Pro is a little different than the classic series.  I would liken it to disassembling an HK or a S&W auto.  I'm spoiled by the disassembly lever in the classic series.

The SIG Pro is fairly light.  For being a Polymer pistol, it doesn't really feel top heavy to me.  It feels pretty well balanced.

To be honest, what really drew me to the SIG Pro series was the price.  You get a lot of pistol for an excellent price.  The SIG Pro series is definatly an underrated pistol!

I now have two Sig SP2022's, one in tutone and one in Nitron...both have CTC Lasergrips, factory night sights and factory short triggers. The Nitron is in .357 Sig and is my primary carry gun while the tutone is chambered in .40 S&W. I absolutely love mine, more so than the P229. I was looking to get a Sig for CCW, smaller than my P226RST, and the SP2022 immediatly caught my eye. It has interchangible grips*which the P229 does not* and it has extremely ergonomic controls. Its also lighter and somewhat easier to tote than the P229. I had both my first SP2022 and a P229 out side by side at the store and chose the Sig Pro hands down. Price had no bearing, this was all about feel...though being several hundred less didn't hurt its case.

I couldn't be happier with mine. Function has been 100 percent after thousands of rounds between the two. Im not wild about internal extractors on any weapons, but this one works and works well. After owning my first SP2022 for over a year, the extractor design is something that does't even cross my mind. I prefer an external extractor, but all the other positives of the weapon far outweigh any quams*which are largely personal* that I may have with the gun. My chief complaint is recoil. In .357 Sig this gun has some serious BARK!. Its certainly managible, but after 500 rounds your wrists will be sore. In .40, the gun is a pussy cat...not much different from a 9, but in .357 Sig it takes some practice to handle. Its not going to fly out of your hands, but the recoil is certainly pronounced, more so than my P226RST anyways...

Holsters aren't all that easy to come by, but I use a Bladetech IWB paddle holster for both, which are probably some of the best IWB type holsters out there. I also have a Fobus paddle holster, which works well too. Safariland also makes a good SP holster. ..
The rail is a little tight on both of mine, but all accessories work perfectly. I prefer tight as opposed to loose if you catch my drift....Other than serious bark in .357 Sig and holster selection, I love my gun and don't have a single issue with it. I don't regret buying this over a P229 at all, probably never will... Especially since magazines only cost 12.00 per. In actuality, I kinda regret buying a P226 over a P229 as the P229 is suitible for both CCW and duty work....the P226 is not.

I think the SP's are highly underated. Sig sells more of these to agencys militaries than any other model, and the SP got Sig its largest contract to date. If its good enough for military/police forces the world over, its good enough for you. Snobs poo-poo them because of the P229, but in actuality the SP has more to offer and is probably a better weapon for some applications. There is a great SP Q/A page which you can find if you do a google search. Lots of good info there...See if you can find a SP 2009 with the manual safety, which were made under military contract. Very neat and rare....

I can't even fathom carrying anything else...

I've owned both the 2340 and 2009.  I'm looking for a good deal on a 2022 in .40 or 357Sig.  Both of my pistols ran 100%.

I'll reiterate what's been stated by the other Pro owners above me: The SigPro is one of the best polymer pistols on the market.  Reliable, accurate, and inexpensive.

Pro series are great guns.  I carry the 2340 for duty...Very accurate and reliable.  Only complain i have with it is the changable back straps.  I have small hands and even with the small backstrap its still a hair to big for my hands but I adapt and still can shoot 95%+ when I qualify
