I have a friend who is looking at a Sig P232 & she thinks that it fits her hand well.  Any opinions on it?  I see that there are three caliber choices 32, 380 & 9mm.  Any preference?  What ammo is the cheapest?  What ammo is the most readily available?  What is the overall reputation of the pistol?  What should one cost blued with alloy frame?  Stainless?  Two-tone?  How is the accuracy?  Is the pistol reliable?  How would it be for concealed carry?

I have one and i like it.  My mother like to shoot mine also. I dont think it is available in 9mm.  9mm is to hot for a straight blow back design.  .380 is cheaper than .32 and easier to find. I shoot +P cor-bon ammo in mine.  As far as reliability, its a Sig, they are great.  I carry mine all the time.  There are lots of great hosters made for them.  Accuracy is good for a small gun. If it fits you friends hand well and she is comfortable with a gun with no external safty, i say go for it.

Actually there are only two choices, 32acp and 380. The 9mm they mention is 9mm Kurz which is the same thing as 380. I would go for the 380. The 32 was never officially brought into the US TTBOMK. There was a bunch that were surplus from an Asian contract that one of the wholesalers, SOG IIRC, was selling, but it's hard to find mags or parts for them.

My 230 is my favorite CCW. I carry it constantly, usually in an Alessi pocket holster. The blued version only weighs 17 ounces so it's a joy to carry.

The gun itself is the most intuitive pointing pistol I've ever found. If you can point a finger at something you'll hit it with a 230/232. It's simple to maintaing and nearly indestructable in normal use. It likes hot ammo, the hotter the better and I usually use either Triton, Corbon or Gold Dots as carry ammo but S&B for plinking and fun.

Here's my 230 in it's Alessi Pocket Holster.
