This is a NEAT little gun. I put an adapter and my AAC Pilot on it, and if it holds up this might just be the fucking heat. ? |

Definately wear eye protection 100%. A member had his slide separate shooting a Mosquito with a can. If he doesn't post pics, I will put them up on Monday. The slide is made up of old pots and pans and beer cans. (zinc alloy or some crap) I love how they look and feel, but there is one heck of a lot of negative feedback on them. |
Same as the P22. Probably the crappiest gun that SIG makes. They should have stuck to making major caliber pistols. I had one and sold it. |
Do you sell them? Will you pay shipping back to Sig? Because Sig sure as hell won't. Smith and Wesson will pay shipping, even for a 15 year old gun with a minor problem.
|
Did they charge you for shipping? That would be a slap in the face! Fortunately, Sig payed for the overnight shipping to and from them for my Mosquito. I had to pay nothing. That's the one bright spot in this whole mess. |
Mine was a GSR. For the initial cost, shipping was more of a kick in the nuts to me. I asked them for their FEDEX account number, because I know how the customer service game is played. They wouldn't give it to me because they had to make sure the fault was theirs. It shouldn't have been any fucking surprise to them, because they got almost every GSR they produced returned for a new extractor, spring, and ramp/chamber work. Total BS on Sig's part, and I used to like them. I sold three 220s and a 228, I was so pissed at them. Great guns, but I want no part of a company like that. |

I had purchased a two tone mosquito in March. After shooting couple of times, I had to ship it back to Sig due to 90%+ failure to feed, eject, fire, etc. I've kept in touch with Sig for several months. They kept telling me that they'll be getting new shipments in from Germany. However, by middle of June, they told me they didnt' know when they'll be getting a new shipment. So, Sig agreed to ship SP2022 as a replacement. I got to choose any of their options available. I chose 9mm two tone but two tone was not CA compliant. I was still happy to get the blue 9mm in replacement of my mosquito. Sig even agreed to send me two extra magazines for my troubles. I finally picked up my gun from a local FFL and received two extra magzines in the mail. Sig sure made me happy. SP2022 retails for $600. Can't say anything bad about Sig. They do go beyond to satisfy their clients. |

Looking at pictures of my old Mosquito as compared to my new one, there is one significant change and some minor changes. The most obvious change is the barrel finish. With the new Mosquito, the barrel has a glossy black finish where with the old one the finish was flat gray. It has much greater lubricity. Also, the insert into the slide that contains the firing pin (I don't know the name or what to call it) is a different color steel. I think the feed ramp is slightly different, too, but I can't tell as I don't have a clear enough picture of that. I've been busy at work, but when I get the chance, I'm going to work up a full report comparing the pistols including range time. If the Mosquito has truly been fixed, the negative stigma needs to be addressed. |
