| I'm about to buy a 229 and am deciding to go with DAK or DA/SA. The only other gun I have is a 226R DAK so I am already used to the trigger. Is it a better idea to just stick with what I already know, or get the DA/SA so I can get used to a more universal type system? |

Note that the SIG DA/SA trigger is IMHO pretty challenging to learn to use well. Add to that the fact that you’d better not forget to decock the thing (which I’d think would be easy if you’ve also got a SIG with a DAK trigger). If you’re happy with the DAK trigger, I’d suggest you stay with it. |

I guess it depends on what you plan on doing with it. If you plan on carrying both, definitely stay with the DAK. No need to confuse yourself if the SHTF, right? But if you are just using it as a range gun, then hell, why not get the 229 in the other trigger just to be a little different? I own the 228 and my buddy owns a 229, both with the DA/SA trigger and we both absolutely love them. You're going to love your new SIG either way, it is just going to depend on what you plan on using it for. -Phil |

I have a 229R with the DAK trigger and if all the DAK triggers are as nice as mine then I'd stick with the DAK trigger for all new purchases. I do have a number of Sigs with the standard DA/SA setup and I think the DAK feels like a better trigger even though the SA trigger of the traditional DA/SA is lighter. |

I carry all the time (as much as Uncle Sugar will allow) and I carry three different guns all with different triggers and actions. I also train with them all, so don't let that discourage you from getting something. Sigs are very nice, I have no trouble with the DA/SA. I carry a XD45, a Kimber procarry, and a SIG P220. Now I am able to use whatever gun I grab. Just train as much as you can, anyhow thats fun. |
