| I was on the Sig site, looking at the 220sport, and the 226sport. They mentioned on the writeup about them that they can be ordered with a short trigger. Are they talking trigger pull? If anyone can help with that info, I would appreciate it. Looking at one of those for my next firearm. Thanks |
| I have them on all my Sigs except for one and I personally like them. It's like many things in life, some like them, some do not. Try one before you purchase. My one Sig that doesn't have the short trigger is a P220ST (homemade sport with the LPA fiber optic sights) which is shot single action only as it is set-up as a range gun. The short triggers have a smooth surface instead of the ridges and I like them better for that first double action shot. |

Will the short trigger improve my shots? I am guessing it would, but seemed like no one mentioned it. The P229 I just got is DAK, so length of trigger pull is the same everyshot, not like DA/SA, where the first shot is a long trigger pull. I find that I really have to stretch my index finger to have a good "hook" on the trigger. My shots are way right and low.. I know I have to work on flintching, but I also feel the stock trigger is too far, so I end up pulling right, is that correct? my groups are much better with a GLOCK , maybe the trigger disign and my shooting style?? p.s., where do I get a short trigger? some post said Sig "used to " ... thanks |

You get the short trigger from Sig. Your gunsmith could also order it. I had my local gunsmith install it for me. Just make sure there is a short trigger for your Sig model. Again, they are meant for people with smaller hands, who have to stretch a little to use the trigger. It makes a big difference for me. Bill |
| You can get a short trigger here at midway, I ended up changing out the stock trigger on my work 226 for a for the thin one that I cannabalized off a 228 we had in the armory. Worked well for me as I have medium to small hands, then I ended up doing the same for a couple of other guys. The switch-out can be done yourself if you are moderately good with tools, but be warned it can be a pain in the ass as the pin holding the locking block in looks like a screw but is not. You have to have the head of it rotated in a certain orientation (can't remember what it is right now, will post after I pull one apart at work) in order for it to slide in the right way. Hope this helps. matt |
thanks, I called Sig Arms, they sell the short trigger for $40 (black) with $8 s/h (kinda high for something so small, I thought)..and if you want them to install it, you ship your gun back and they charge $100 I took my 229DAK apart with the exploded diagram, it wasn't as hard as I imagined ( I did order the armorer DVD, but couldn't wait! |
