Could one of you who is still serving down on the line (and not relegated to a staff job like me) post a photo of the part number on the left side of the current issue M17 and M18 slides? I’d like to compare them to the “military production” pistols being sold by Proven Arms and some other dealers. Thanks!

I’m kind of expecting them to have M17 and M18 serial number prefixes like the original commercial models, since they’re marketing them to the civilian audience. I’m curious if they’ll have the manual safety cutout. I’d personally prefer to stick with that since my others are all set up that way. Notching the XSeries grip and adding the manual safety is easy. |

I took the M18X out to my range for a short trip. 100 rounds of Speer Lawman 124gr ball all fired from 25 yards. No adjustment on zero, shot like it came right out of the box.
Nothing formal. Series of draw from the holster and 2-5 shot sequences, pretty quick firing. Maybe another ms or two on the headshots. Overall it was great. Noticeable recoil, typical of any plastic gun. First time I've shot with a circle around the dot on the RDS. I liked it fine. Didn't get in my way. It'd probably help with less experienced shooters find the dot in stress. So, perfect for the military.
