Does anyone know about whether the P320 VTAC has been released? If not, is there a timeframe when they're supposed to be available?

I had been looking real hard at the X5, but I think the VTAC fits my needs a little better. This will be my first P320, so I want to do it right.

Sig hasn't released any info on the vtac since shot show.  It was supposed to be released in June but here we are in August and no news from Sig.  I had a order in for one at my lgs a little after shot show and they told me in June that it probably won't be available until next year.

They just released his rifle, so I would assume It would be out within the next couple months.

I called Sig today and spoke to a rep. She advised me that the next X series to be released is the X carry, which they were told would be "soon". She advised they have not been given any timeline on the VTAC.

Unfortunately, I had played with an X5 at my LGS. Not knowing how rare they were, I let it slip through my fingers. Then was out of town for two weeks for my Annual Training with the Guard. Got back today, went back, and found it had been sold. Went all over town, but no one else has one. Guy at one of the stores said "You actually saw one? We've been trying to get one for months." Damn....

I like that price too. Cheaper than I thought it would be!

I wasn't a fan of the VTAC the first time I saw the video.  This is starting to look better than the X-Five 320.

Had thought the VTAC was going to be a 4 inch model, guess I was wrong.  Also cool is the grip frame is cut for both a full and carry length slide.  Still can't find a reason to like the sights.  Never seen a set in person, so maybe I'm missing out, but it looks to be to busy for my old eyes.  But this looks like a neat gun.

I really like the look of the Vtac but am not impressed at all with the price.  It's about ~$90 cheaper than the Xfive, but the X5 has four 21 round mags that alone has a price difference over the Vtac (with 3 regular mags) that is more than that $90 difference... In addition to the $100 more in mags you get, the Xfive also has a match bull barrel, removable slide plate, and magazine well and grip weight (they both have custom sights) that the Vtac doesn't. Not seeing the value of the Vtac in comparison.

It seems it is just a pretty color P320 with a fancy custom slide shape and Vtac sights that is ~ $200 more than a basic P320 w/ night sights.  The tac ops is a much better value with basically the same sights as the Vtac, + four 21 round mags at only ~ $70 more than the base P320.  In fact I prefer the contrast and distinction of the TFO front and siglite rear to fiber front + rear.  I guess if you really like the look of the pistol, you may want to pay $200 extra for the cosmetics...

Keep in mind that Sig WILL still offer the X frame for the P320 for sale separately next year from what they told me.  So if the frame is the main thing you're looking for, can just wait till then.

I ended up buying an X5. Several reps at sig contradicted each other in availability, and while I like the look and size of the VTAC, I decided that due to the sights and the fact the X5 is optic ready (and the extra mag issue), I would just get the X5.

How, you must be the first person in the nation to get one!  How much was the street price on it?  Do you think it's worth the $250 - $300 more than the base 320 just for the looks?

My concern would be that the POI will be low, and I'll be unable to swap to a lower front sight.

I'm usually one of the first people to get anything new at SIG

Why wouldn't you be able to change the sight?  Or, do you mean, changing the front sight and still be able to use the VTAC rear?

How are you the first?  Who are you to Sig?  What's the street price? I'd love to hear a range report.  Yes, that's what I mean.  If the gun shoots low for me (as most Sig seem to do), I can't have Sig swap out the front Vtac with a shorter one.  With a Siglite or Xray, I could swap out a #6 for a #8, etc.
