Picked up a LE trade in p229 .40 in a trade today. I was wondering if aftermarket aluminum grips are thinner than the e2 conversion kit. I like the texture of the stock grips and don't mind the polymer. Trying to move my trigger finger forward a little.
Also, the gun came with a matching serial # case, that said police trade in. But it's in pristine condition. It has factory like oil on it also. Any reason why it isn't like every other LE trade in gun I've ever seen? The sights are a little dim, but they still work fine. |

I would look in to a short reach trigger, not to be confused with the short reset kit. Some aluminum grips will be just a little thinner than standard but an E2 grip will make the grip substantially smaller and probably do a better job of getting your finger where you want it. Sometimes you get lucky and find an LE trade in that was never issued/used. |
