I need to drift my rear sight on my P220, I'm getting slightly left of center at 25 meters. I'm looking to buy a sight tool. I have Sigs, Glocks, Kimbers,, even a llama. Looked a MGW, and Wheeler engineering. What is your suggestion for a good strong sight tool??

Quoted: MGW Sight Pro.... expensive but works well. Brownells has it on sale currently for $300 plus the shoes... This is the end all solution for sight installation. |

As someone that is obsessive about zeroing my pistol sights I will give you the following "heads-ups"…..
Be aware that "universal" sight pushers, while definitely the most cost effective if you have multiple models of pistol, are a pain in the but to set-up. However, the hassle is worth the savings of only having to buy 1. Sometimes with mine the pistol slide will try to do a barrel-roll in the pusher when you start pushing. Be wary of this, take your time, and go slow. Otherwise you may scratch your slide. In theory, you should only need to push once to zero it. Fire a group (maybe 10 rounds or whatever) at a target at a known distance. Then calculate how far to move the sight. The equation is… (sight radius / distance to target ) * how far off-target you are = distance to push sight. Be sure to use the same units (inches, millimeters, whatever) for all numbers. Use a caliper to get an idea of how far to move it, mark it somehow, then start pushing. I've done this repeatedly; take your time, think, and it will be easy. Be aware, different ammos have different points of impact, so use whatever ammo you want to be zeroed for. For me, that's my carry ammo. |
| I purchased the MGW specifically for P series since i have a 226 228 & 220. $99. On amazon I believe. Rock solid and extremely straight forward. Use pb blaster and let it soak for 5 or 10 minutes first. Then clean up with acetone. 2 sets of Trijicon HDs installed so far. Because there are calibration marks on tool no after adjustments were needed. Spot on. Great tool! |

I won't have much use for the universal pusher plus shoes cuz I'm primarily on the 320 and I like the model specific pushers due to their streamlined design and easy use. Does anyone know if they have that planned for the 320? I know they have them for glocks and M&Ps and others.... |

The example at Amazon is the MGW model mentioned utilizing adapter shoes. A very well manufactured and simple to operate device if one has multiple pistols to replace/adjust sights. Yep, I've considered getting it, but these days I'm only messing with 320s and Glocks, so I'd rather just get those specific MGWs (if/when they make one for the 320). Everything I've seen says the sight pro is fantastic and we'll worth it if you mess with sights on lots of different guns though. Also they tend to sell it on Brownells for closer to $300 |
