i got a used P238 and has shot good, but i went out yesterday and had issues. sadly , i only took one type of ammo and i believe ammo was the issue.
I was shooting Winchester 95 gr FMJ value pack, i think the issue was that this ammo is flat nosed, so as expect i had feed issues, but also had a few that did not extract and several times the slide didnt lock back on last round. so i have a few diff boxes to try but my question is this..... has any one had to or just changed their recoil spring jus to change it. the spring feels weak to me and being a used gun i dont know round count |
| Try different ammo if this is the only ammo you had problems with. People way overdo the spring replacement thing. It is not uncommon to find guns 50+ years old that run fine. I have shot guns that are decades old that I know have tens of thousands of rounds through them on original springs. Run fine no signs of excess wear. |
